Abstract Objectives The aim of the study was to characterize the sexual activity of women in early adulthood, based on the general quality of life and satisfaction with relationships, and to study the relationship between sexual functioning and satisfaction with it and temperamental variables. Methods The study involved 200 women aged 20 to 35 years. Data for the study were obtained using three standardized questionnaires: the Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS), the Sexual Satisfaction Questionnaire (KSS) and the Formal Characteristics of Behavior - Temperament Questionnaire in its revised version (FCZ-KT (R)) as well as the authorial tool: Short Characteristics of Sexual Activity (KCAS-J). The main part of the analysis covered relationships of temperament with sexual satisfaction, satisfaction with relationships and the overall quality of life in terms of the intensity of individual temperament features, the four basic temperament structures and the temperamental profiles occurring in the studied group. Results The highest levels of sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction and overall life satisfaction are achieved by people with a higher intensity of alertness, endurance and activity as well as the average level of intensity of perseverance and emotional reactivity. The lowest indicators of the level of sexual satisfaction, relationship satisfaction and overall life satisfaction are presented by people with the opposite temperamental characteristics: high rates of perseverance and emotional reactivity and, at the same time, lower than average levels of alertness, endurance and activity. Conclusions The conducted research allowed to notice significant relationships between the overall quality of life, the satisfaction with relationships, sexual satisfaction and temperamental variables in a group of women aged 20 to 35 years.
