Abstract Objectives Telemedicine was established as an essential tool for healthcare due to the last pandemic by COVID19. The objective of this study is to know the assessment of the patients of the Andrology thematic consultation of the telephone teleconsultations carried out during the pandemic. Methods We conducted a retrospective study by reviewing medical records, and cross-sectional by telephone survey, of a group of patients randomly selected from our Andrology section. Satisfaction with remote assistance was carried out using the validated TSQ questionnaire (Telemedicine Satisfaction Questionnaire) and a self-designed opinion questionnaire with 7 items in relation to their attitude towards teleconsultation as a regular practice in the future. Results A total of 92 patients were selected, of whom 78 participated in the study (response rate of 84.8%). All of them were men with a mean age of 58 years. 67.5% consulted for erectile dysfunction, 22.1% for Peyronie's disease, 2.6% for premature ejaculation, and 7.8% for infertility. Overall, 70.0% were satisfied with the quality of the service provided during the pandemic. 48.1% would agree with incorporating teleconsultation as an option for their assistance in the future, preferably for reading the results of complementary tests requested (57.1%). We found no correlations between satisfaction with the telephone consultation and age (p 0.49), sociocultural level (p 0.34), employment status (p 0.31), distance from the hospital (p 0.83), disease risk factors severe by Covid19 (p 0.35), the Charlson index (p 0.59), nor the pathology for which they suffered (p 0.26). Conclusions The telephone consultation as a telemedicine option has been well received by the majority of our patients with andrological pathology. The predisposition of a good part of our patients for their use in the future can be a useful tool to reduce the usual care load, considering the situation and individual preferences.
