Lichen planus pigmentosus is a variant of lichen planus which is characterized by slate grey to dark brown pigmented macules and patches involving the sun exposed areas, which is seen among the darker races, the exact etiopathogenesis of which remains unclear. It is usually recalcitrant to treatment. In this article we report a case series of lichen planus pigmentosus in three women of Indian origin.
