A new layer of regulation of chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) translocation in budding yeast

  • Cell Biology
  • Molecular Biology

Kinetochore-localized chromosomal passenger complex (CPC) is essential for chromosome bipolar attachment, but it moves to the spindle during anaphase. The reversal of CDK-dependent phosphorylation Sli15, a CPC subunit, has been shown to promote CPC translocation. Here, we found that reversal of Ipl1-dependent Sli15 phosphorylation by Fin1-PP1 also causes CPC translocation, thereby revealing a new layer of regulation for CPC translocation.
