Floria C. Dialde, MA- General Medicine
This study aims to evaluate the academic performance of students with OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) parents in selected schools on Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte. It utilizes a descriptive quantitative research design through the survey method. The researchers employ a purposive sampling method, selecting only students whose parents are OFWs to participate as respondents in this study. Based on the study’s findings, the outstanding academic performance of respondents in their classes, as measured by the General Point Average (GPA), is not significantly affected by the absence of their parents. In addition, using one-way ANOVA, no significant difference in the academic performance of the respondents was observed when categorized according to their socio-demographic profiles
