Sport-specific technical skills and a high physical performance profile are the dominant factors in tennis. Fitness test batteries help to analyze the performance levels of amateur and elite-level tennis players at different levels in the laboratory and on the court. Although laboratory tests are often used for many sports, in a more specific approach, field-based tests are more suited to the demands of sports involving complex, intermittent efforts, such as tennis. Regular tests carried out at different times of the year provide the opportunity to determine the individual's performance profile and adjust the individual training program individually according to the test results. Therefore, the aim of this review was to describe and evaluate the different performance tests recommended and used by performance coaches, sports scientists, and organizations (national tennis federations).
